Wink Hub 2
Category: Hub
Updated Oct 26, 2025

Description
Cloud-dependent hub with frequent outages and uncertain support. Company ownership changed several times; core services unreliable according to community. This device no longer works reliably with Home Assistant and should not be used for new setups.
Highlights
- Second-generation Wink hub with faster hardware, Ethernet, and radios for Z-Wave Plus, Zigbee, Bluetooth LE, Kidde, Lutron Clear Connect, and Wi-Fi.
- Built around Wink's MiOS-based cloud; local APIs are undocumented and dependent on remote services.
- Wink's $4.99/month subscription (introduced 2020) and recurring outages regularly strand devices offline.
Although the hardware is versatile, the cloud requirement and declining support mean Home Assistant can no longer integrate this hub reliably.
Integration depends on the Wink cloud, which now requires a subscription and suffers extended outages, so Home Assistant fails to stay connected.
